Just tried the US site for delivery to UK.
No delivery options there.
Fair enough, I then proceed to EUR site, and order there instead.
Fed Ex wants more than 40 Euros for delivery to the UK...
Half of the cost on shipping... |

EU site has shipping, but it wants Gé¼40 for shipping.

Someone pointed out on the Dev blog that since book VAT is 0% in the UK, it didn't make sense to charge a Euro price for UK customers, since the EU does have 5-20% VAT on books.

Pro Tip for my UK buddies.
You will need to use the EUR site if you want a copy. The US/UK/ROW site will NOT give you options for delivery methods.
My guess is: CCP forgot to update the shipping destinations when they switched the pricing method for us Brits, from EURO to USD.
So, if you want a copy, order it from the EUR site with a delivery option of Gé¼40.
That's Gé¼130 total, or -ú95.
Pffft... -ú75 extra for an anodised frame of Jita 4-4...
Still trying to justify it. |

Many were probably outraged by the shipping costs, especially since it was almost 50% of the price of the book, UK anyway.
You could use that 50% to buy the standard book TWICE from Amazon, and still have some left over.
The appeal probably died down after the initial hype and subsequent server fail. People left disappointed, and thought "Screw it, I'll just get the Standard Edition.
I myself, could not justify a staggering premium for the shipping cost, and will just settle for the standard book.
Collectors will be happy for the Limited Edition though. |
